SVSPL is supported by both the Research and Development and Process Technology departments.Â Depending on the needs of the customer, SVSPL is able to offer a variety of services that range from Process Transfer, Process Development and Process Optimization.Â With any of these services, the customer is able to communicate directly with a representative of the R&D or Process Technology group to minimize gaps in communication.
- Process Transfer:
If your need is to find a facility that can manufacture a product in which the process is well documented and a Process Transfer Package can be supplied, SVSPL is able to quickly determine if we are capable of manufacturing the product for you, and if so, provide an estimated manufacturing cost.Â If manufacturing terms are agreed to, the R&D and Process Technology departments would work together with your Technology groups to assimilate the new process into our manufacturing facility.
- Process Development:
If there is minimal or no experience in actually manufacturing the product of interest, SVSPL is able to â€œDevelopâ€ a safe and economical process that can be utilized on a commercial scale.Â Depending on the commercial timing and viability, cost for this development work is negotiable.Â When a viable process has been developed on a laboratory or pilot scale, a cost to manufacture would be provided.
- Process Optimization:
In many instances, SVSPL is able to take a well developed process and optimize it by using our experience with different equipment, certain raw materials or unit operations.Â Depending on the process, optimization could come in the form of reduced raw material consumption, incorporation of a less hazardous raw material or reduction in the number of synthetic steps.Â All of these lend to better economics for our customer.
SVSPL's R&D department is staffed with highly skilled personnel whose main objective is to commercialize safe, reproducible and economical processes to proprietary, custom or contract products.The group has Research Associates whose chemical background and experience is diverse and manufacturing oriented. During the development effort, the R&D department works closely with all the other departments to minimize the development time for the product.
The Process Technology group works closely with the R&D, Manufacturing and EHS&S departments to transition new processes to the manufacturing facility.Members of both the Process Technology and R&D departments are part of the Start-up Team that supports any new process that is transitioned to the manufacturing facility.
